The island of Mljet is situated in South Dalmatia near Dubrovnik, with one part of the island being a National Park.
There are plenty of fish, crabs, shells or other seafood specialties like smoked octopus you can enjoy there. People usually associate Mljet with Odysseus, mythical king of Ithaca, who, after surviving a shipwreck, swam to a cave od Calypso and became her prisoner. Today one cave on the island is called Odyssey's cave. You can reach Mljet by ferry from Dubrovnik, Korèula or the Pelješac peninsula.

A settlement and port in the bay of the same name on the northern coast of the island of Mljet, 7 km east of Babino Polje.
It is the island with the most lavish vegetation on the Adriatic. Besides Mediterranean vegetation, the island is characterized by crystal clear sea, rich underwater world and quiet sandy bays.
The northwestern part of the island was proclaimed a national park in 1960. Two saltwater lakes and the islet of sv. Marija with a Benedictine monastery from the 12th century belong to the national park.
Sobra does not belong to the national park and is the maritime center of the island. The island is connected to the mainland from Sobra to Dubrovnik, Vela Luka and Split.
The tourist offer includes accommodation in nice family apartments. The settlement is known for its culinary offer. It is an attractive destination for a pleasant and quiet holiday in a beautiful landscape.
The economy includes agriculture, wine, olive and fruit growing, as well as fishing and tourism.
