Village accommodation (in Croatia called "Private Accommodation"),similar to Greece, is plentiful and generally of very high standard, all licensed by the authorities. The owners normally market them through local tourist offices and village travel agents, which are usually in the most prominent location in the resort/village, ie. bus station or harbour. They would normally see your requirements and make appointment to see several properties, usually the owners family live on the ground floor and let rooms/apartments upstairs to tourists. Some have taverna or restaurant and can arrange meals. Prices range from 5 to 15 pounds per person/night , depending on the season, type of accommodation and location .
